Welcome to the Westchester Filipino American Society,
Inc (WFASI). Founded
by group of Filipino Americans from Westchester Area with
the intention
to group Filipino Americans around the county and all over for
acquaintances.
This is a non profit organization involved
in many ways, including hosting shows
highlighting the Philippine culture and
community volunteer. Also, dedicated for a
fundraising campaign for our very own deserving Filipino-American youths
as our scholars.
Summer Family Picnic is fun. A sort of get
together with some old friends and families.
Time to share your laughters, jokes,
sportsmanship, sariling luto (Menu) and enjoy
the non stop eating of our very
own Filipino food like LETCHON, KARE-KARE,
B-B-Q, GULAY, PANSIT, KAKANIN, BINATOG, etc. Through the generosity of our sponsors.
You name it you can eat it. Come and enjoy !

WFASI is selling raffle tickets for the (PIDC) Philippine Independence Day
Committee. Tickets are
$10.00 each and WFASI gets 50% of the total sale if WFASI sell at least $500.00.
Deadline for ticket sales is May 18, 2004.
Deadline for Scholarship application, May 19, 2004.
The search is on for the high school senior who will be the scholar
starting school year 2004-2005.
The award is $4,000.00 payable over four years to a deserving Filipino-American
high school senior
who resides in New York State and has been admitted to college.
CRITERIA
1. Must be a
Filipino or of Filipino descent
2. Must be a
New York state resident
3. GPA must
be 90 (or its equivalent ) or higher
4. SAT score at
least 1250
5. Must be
involved in Community/School affairs
6. Must be a
high school senior and accepted for college
7. Must
belong to the top 10% of his/her junior and senior class
The winner will join the following who have won the WFASI Scholarship
Award:

Family Picnic
- Pearl and Louie Winthal is looking into the possibility of the City of
Yonkers or the
County of Westchester of sponsoring the Family Picnic. The
County of Westchester
requires a certificate of liability in addition to the
fee of $375.00 for park
reservation.
